Issue Number Nine

Salutations Fellow Fans of Literature:

First off, you may have noticed that we’ve been restructuring—rethinking, reimagining, generally redeveloping—this self contained, solipsistic world of electronically published literature and art that we've created. By saying that, what I mostly mean is, you may have noticed that it’s been about twice as long as normal since our last release. I apologize for the delay, as I had some familial strife to deal with and, having dealt with it, I now feel very strongly about the direction in which we have decided to take Squalorly. That’s about as deep as I need to go into it, but be certain that I appreciate your patience and am terribly excited to finally get this material out to you.

We are going to be, very soon we hope, welcoming two new poetry editors to the staff. Seth Piccolo is going to step into the role of full time Visual Arts Editor. We may take on another Fiction reader. The important thing is that we are becoming more streamlined and better honed to deliver a product that we feel strongly about. Which is good.

Our poetry contest, for which the winners have been chosen for some time, will be published in a special contest issue, or half issue, really, comprised solely of the winners and runners up in our two contests, Short-Short-Fiction and Poetry. Look for that to go live on the website within the next month or two. I apologize for the delay there as well but, with the restructuring and staff-changes and ethereal forces pulling me this way and that, I decided it better to delay than sacrifice quality to the burden of haste.

Basically, what I’m saying is, enjoy the new issue, and don’t count on any more hiccups in the release schedule. Change is inevitable but our death is not.

Keep Reading and Writing.
